This two-hour class covers the basics of curling including scoring, rules, etiquette, and on-ice instruction on how to throw a rock, sweep, and play a game. Participants that complete a learn to curl class can explore membership and league opportunities.
Ice rinks are necessarily cold so make sure you have warm clothes. Gloves are not essential but worth bringing along. Avoid woolen gloves, as you will not be able to grip the brush handle. It is always wise to have an extra sweater. You will soon warm up after a few ends of vigorous sweeping!
Pants should be made from a stretch material or be loose enough to cause no restriction in the curling delivery. Jeans are not really suitable.
Please bring shoes with soft rubber soles for maximum grip with you. The soles should be scrupulously clean and ideally not worn anywhere other than on the ice.
Ages 7 and up are welcome to participate with the presence of a guardian. If you are registering a minor, please fill out their age in the ticket registration to help us plan and personalize their experience.
*Public health protocols will be followed as recommend by state and local board of health. All participants will be required to sign a waiver regarding current COVID status and agreeing to follow posted health protocols.*
